Hello,

I’m

Stephen

My grandfather first inspired my love for photography.

As a child, I learned how to process photos in my grandfather’s darkroom. I got to see him make pinhole, or “cracker box” cameras from oatmeal canisters and cardboard boxes, and going to photography exhibits together across the Midwest—any guesses why my son is named Ansel?—I loved using lighting and composition to create something beautiful.

I find endless inspiration in the natural beauty of California.

After a long, cloudy winter cooped up in our home with a 2 year old during Covid lockdowns, My family moved to California in 2021 so that we could spend more time outdoors.

We are fully embracing the sunshine and the wonders of California's breathtaking coast, wineries, and mountains as a family and loving our west coast life.

I fully believe photography can be an enjoyable part of your wedding day.

I love providing a stress-free experience for my clients where they can feel swept up in the beauty of their wedding day. I’d rather take photos of you actually being happy and authentically connecting with those you love, than just smiling because I told you to.

Over the last 12 years + 100+ weddings, I’ve learned how to keep your experience at the center of my work, allowing you to meaningfully connect with those around you rather than endlessly posing for the camera—no thanks! The end result is both a beautiful and authentic narrative of your wedding day, providing memories you will cherish for years to come.
